Not only is the Luxe trigger completely adjustable for pre-travel, post-travel, activation point and resistance, but even its side to side placement can be dialed in to a player’s personal taste by adjusting its dual cone and bearing trigger mount. All adjustments can be made live, without disassembling the Luxe. None of the adjusters are located on the trigger face, providing a smooth, continuous trigger surface for optimal player comfort.
The Luxe is completely hose-less. Inside and out there are no hoses, tubes or hose fittings. By using gas paths machined into its grip frame and body, the Luxe delivers rock-solid reliability without the potential failure points common to other markers.
Every second counts – both on the field and in the staging pits. A combination of rare earth magnets and secure physical latches hold the Luxe ball detent assemblies in place. In only a moment, they can be removed without tools for instant access to both the ball detents and the Vision anti-chop eye system. The physical latches, introduced with Luxe 2.0 offer additional security on the field.
Until the Luxe, marker designers used ball detents angled at 90 degrees to the marker’s bolt to prevent double-feeding. In this configuration the bolt has to scrape against the rounded edge of a plunger or ball bearing detent to push it out of the way. The Luxe design team angled its ball detent plungers at 23 degrees off-axis from the bolt so that the ball and bolt push against the plunger close to the direction it actually moves. The result is longer detent life, lowered resistance and better consistency.
The Luxe Power Core consist of much more than the marker’s bolt – it is the entire valve system. Unlike stacked tube markers that offer only fast bolt removal, the Luxe Power Core can be degassed and removed in under a second with no tools. All sealing surfaces of both the bolt and valve system are then available for immediate inspection cleaning or repair – this is only possible with the Luxe.
The Firing Chamber has been redesigned for Luxe 2.0. The Firing Chamber is an integral part of the Luxe Power Core. The new chamber featured milled windows which increase the volume of gas staged in the Power Core to power each shot, for improved consistency. The windows also provide faster and easier access to the Firing Chamber’s internal o-rings, further reducing maintenance time. The new Firing Chamber is also available as an upgrade for earlier model Luxe markers.
Much as the mouse made personal computers easier to use, the Luxe has advanced to the point that complex settings are simple to adjust. A joystick controller in the grip frame and voice menu system allow for fast, no-hassle programming. Even better, with Luxe 2.0, the Luxe standard English, German, Spanish and Russian voice menus can be updated with new voice sets downloaded from LuxePaintball.com, to give your Luxe the voice of your favorite pro paintball player (Windows computer with USB connection required). The USB programmable circuit board is also available as an upgrade for earlier model Luxe markers.
Ever since the first spool valve paintball markers, bolt stick has been a design concern. When the marker’s bolt is at rest for several seconds, or minutes, it will sometimes develop higher levels of friction than when cycling shot after shot. This is the cause of first-shot-drop, where the bolt is slower to get moving for the first shot, reducing the amount of gas released and giving the first shot in a group slightly lower velocity. The new Luxe 2.0 Power Core combats firs-shot drop with an internal bolt spring that stores energy from the bolt’s return and releases it as an assist to break past friction and close the bolt as quickly for the first shot as those which follow.
A matched LED emitter and detector are used to shoot a beam of light across the Luxe Breech, acting as a sensor for the Luxe’s primary microprocessor to know when the marker is loaded. This prevents premature cycling of the valve, allowing for the fastest possible rates of fire. Because it operates at a shorter wavelength than infra-red anti-chop “eyes” the Luxe’s Vision system isn’t fooled by IR translucent paintballs.
Choosing the right barrel is the only way to make sure that your paint hits its target, shot after shot. The precision honed and polished Luxe 3-piece barrel is equipped with four rows of linear porting for perfect pressure-equalization and reduced sound levels. The Luxe 3-piece barrel is also compatible with optional GOG-Paintball Freak inserts. Its general-purpose .693 diameter sleeve can be easily switched out to accommodate any paint or weather conditions.
The Luxe is equipped with a locking feedneck which allows it to adapt to variances in hopper neck sizes. The wrap-around lever stays secure, but releases the loader instantly for cleaning and travel. A ridged adjuster nut allows the clamp to be dialed in to a perfect tension level without needing tools.
During its firing cycle, the Luxe has only one major moving part – its bolt – which weighs in at less than three quarters of an ounce and is moved by electronically controlled low-pressure air. Combine this with the Luxe’s FeatherTouch air-buffer, and the Luxe not only fires without without any practical recoil, but it is also gentle enough to fire the most brittle paint available.
